Almaty Management University (AlmaU) is the oldest business school in Kazakhstan and was founded in 1988 and originially trained from 200-500 students per year. Today the University is composed of 7 different schools with academic courses ranging from undergraduate level, to MBA, to DBA as well as distance learning and short-term training and retraining. 

Almaty Management University has gained accredition for it's MBA program by AMBA and the school was awarded "CEEMAN European institutional accreditation" in quality of business education. As well as this it has been awarded the people’s quality mark “Impeccable” by Kazakhstan’s National League of Consumers as well as being recognised as Kazakhstan’s best employer among domestic recruiters “Senim-2011”. 

AlmaU is an entrepreneurial, socially responsible world-class university. It is a universal platform for training managers, young entrepreneurs and for innovative interaction of the “triple helix “government-business-university”. The University lists its core values as; continuous development, responsibility, proactivity, public engagement, leadership, synergy and integrity. 

On an international scale Almaty Management University offers 14 different exchange programmes and 9 double degree programmes & with these 240 students study abroad in partner universities each year.
