The Master program Entrepreneurship & Tourism enables participants to develop and focus on applying skills and theories that allow them to recognize and use market opportunities in- and outside organizations. Thus they are provided with the necessary base to be innovative and reach sustainable success.

Primary curriculum goals include:

  • to gather sound and application-oriented knowledge to further develop management expertise and approaches to entrepreneurship in tourism;
  • the reflection and discussion of key competencies needed to develop entrepreneurial and intercultural leadership skills;
  • the students acquire profound and practice-based knowledge about strategic and operational marketing and learn how to professionally apply this knowledge in the tourism and leisure industry;
  • the development of key skills and competencies needed to lead family businesses in tourism;
  • the development of a sound understanding and theory of market trends and their implications for international tourism;
  • to gather sound knowledge and know-how to deal with the key-issues for the management of destinations and innovation.

Within the framework of the Master degree program “Entrepreneurship & Tourism” students have the opportunity to choose between two innovative areas of specialization, namely

Admission criteria: 

Strategic Management & Tourism
Bachelor or equivalent degree in business science, ideally with a focus on the tourism- and leisure industries

Marketing Management & Tourism
Bachelor or equivalent degree in Management & Law, Business Law, Law & Economics, Economics, Business Administratiion or other related disciplines

  • Non-EU/EEA citizens: 28000 €

Course cost description: 

For students from EU/EEA countries, tuition fees are currently EUR 363,- per semester (EUR 1.452,- for the program)  plus membership fee for the Austrian Students' Union (ÖH) EUR 19,20. For Non-EU/EEA citizens tuition fees are currently EUR 7.000,- per semester (EUR 28.000,- for the program) plus membership fee for the Austrian Students' Union (ÖH).

MCI Global Scholarship
The MCI Global Scholarship is targeted at highly qualified students who are citizens of countries from outside the European Union/European Economic Area (and Switzerland) and is only available for students who are required to pay the current annual tuition fee of the respective study program. The scholarships may cover 25%, 50% or 75% of the tuition fee, are selective and based on the results of the MCI admissions and selection process. No consideration is taken of the students' financial needs in the selection process.

Application cost description: 

Applicants from states other than EU and EEA member states and Switzerland are required to pay a tuition fee deposit of EUR 50 with their online application. Applications can only be processed after receipt of this deposit.
