This interdisciplinary Master's Degree will provide you with the required theoretical and technical skill in economics, management, law, as well as in socio-organizational and quantitative approaches, to work with the direction of local, regional, Italian and international public administrations and public service as well as in companies operating in these fields. Through a series of specific workshops with top-level professionals and internships you will test your acquired skills.
This Master's degree programme aims to provide graduates with theoretical and technical skills in order to operate in the managerial field of Public Administration (PA), in public interest organizations (local, regional, national and international) and in companies which work in this context favouring the processes of innovation and renewal associated with the digitalization of PA. Through a wealth of knowledge and skills such as corporate economical, quantitative, legal and sociological -organizational as well as a series of transversal competences offered by a highly innovative education which foresees the involvement and interaction of various external subjects, the graduate should be able to face the main innovative challenges that public organizations offer and will continue to offer in the near future.
Educational activities include classroom teaching, workshops and internships in order to acquire wide-ranging skills that can be readily transferable into the work world. Knowledge gained by the students will be assessed through written and oral exams during their course of study.
The final exam consists of writing a thesis, which must possess the characteristics of originality, exhaustive documentation and scientific investigation and which will be discussed with a committee of university professors and experts.
Qualifications/expertise after completing the program
The highly multidisciplinary education provided to second cycle graduates will enable them to autonomously carry out professional duties and tasks which will provide them access to professional roles typical of high profile managerial positions within all institutions of PA in the broadest sense and within supervisory bodies. They may also be placed in private entities and in the private sector responsible for social issues which work with PA.
While the curriculum is not organized in a typical manner, the education offered by the course is coordinated with flexibility such that it permits the students to build differentiated educative pathways, choosing specializations in each of the four areas characterizing the course (quantitative, corporate-economic, legal and sociological-organizational).
Entry qualification : Bachelor diploma (or higher)
For Academic year 2018/19, admission onto the Master's Degree programme in Governance of Public Organizations requires:
- specific curricula requirements, matured with the obtainment of a definite number of credits in certain disciplinary fields;
- an adequate personal preparation;
- a certified knowledge of English at minimum level B2.
Admission to the programme is subjected to the evaluation of the minimum curricular requirements and personal preparation, which is checked through the pre-evaluation procedure.
For students holding qualifications gained abroad: a minimum three-year degree is required.
The entry qualification documents are accepted in the following languages: English / Italian.
You will need official translations along with verified copies of the original documents.
The official translation can be issued in the country of origin or in Italy - either by a local court of law, by court interpreters or by official translators. The entry qualification documents must also be legalised or bear the Apostille stamp certifying that the signature or seal on the document is genuine, and submitted in the original or certified copy.
You do not need to legalise the documents if:
- the qualification has been awarded by one of the signatory Countries of the European Convention of Brussels of 25 May, 1987 - Law 106/1990 (Belgium, Denmark, France, Ireland, Italy);
- the qualification has been awarded by a German institution, following the Italo-German Convention on the exemption from legalization of public documents - Law 176/1973.
You must bring the original entry qualification documents along with you when you finally go to the university.
B2 level is required.

Please notice that students lacking suitable certification in Italian will have to take a preliminary Italian language test, held every academic year at the beginning of September.
The following students do not need to submit evidence of Italian language proficiency: Italian mother-tongue students, EU students (wherever resident), non-EU students who have been living in Italy for at least a year.
B2 level of English language is also required.

Please notice that students lacking certification in English will be required to fulfill the requirement in the first year of studies.
Admission to an open access Master's Degree course does not involve a selection process. However, you are required to have an adequate personal preparation and hold specific requisites. In this case, the Teaching Committee of reference will carry out an assessment.
A certified knowledge of English at minimum level B2 is also required.

In addition, Ca' Foscari offers students a variety of forms of financial aid: scholarships, exemptions and reduction of fees, student loans, prizes for outstanding dissertations and other forms of concession.
Some of the student loans involve agreements with banks allowing students to pay tuition fees on favourable terms. The most deserving students are entitled to an interest-free advance repayable a year after graduation.
Students are also given the opportunity to participate in forms of student collaborations involving paid jobs within the university.
