Nanjing University of Science & Technology (NJUST), founded in 1953, is one of the key universities in China under the guidance of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. It was listed in the first group of universities chosen to be part of China’s “211 Project”, which is designed to develop a hundred first-rate universities in the 21st century. The university has over sixty years experience in providing inspiring and broadened-horizon education. It has become a multi-disciplinary university comprising academic fields including: science, engineering, liberal arts, economics, business, management, law and education. In addition, NJUST encompasses a wide array of centers, institutes, programs, and administrative support offices.
 
Located in Nanjing, as a historic and cultural city, is the capital of Jiangsu Province and among the Four Great Ancient Capitals of China. The campus situates on the south of Zijin Mountain, with the great historic heritage—Ming Dynasty city wall, on the west. Scenic areas including woods, lakes, and rivers scatter around the campus. The campus itself is a combination of historic and modern architectures. It is an ideal university for studying and spending your overseas life.
 
NJUST carries on its education and research on both undergraduate and postgraduate levels in 15 schools, led by a total of 70 undergraduate majors, 116 master programs and 49 doctoral programs, and 14 Post-doctoral research stations. NJUST’s popular programs such as Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Automation, Computer Engineering and Technology, Material Science Engineering and Technology, Business Management, International Economics and Trade and other disciplines won many championships in both the national or international contest.
 
The number of NJUST staff is over 3,200 people, with more than 1,900 full-time teachers, 30,000 various types of students and over 1120 international degree students.
 
Most of the programs which are provided for local students are also available for international student. Meanwhile, in order to enhance NJUST’s international influence, nearly one third of the overall postgraduate programs and nine undergraduate majors are made available in English. In addition, non-degree courses such as Chinese language courses are also available for international students.
 
In order to encourage more outstanding students to study in China, in the support of the Chinese government, the provincial and municipal governments, NJUST provides various types of scholarships for international students, including the ‘Chinese Government Scholarship’, ‘Nanjing Municipal Government—Nanjing University of Science & Technology Joint Scholarship Program’, and ‘Jiangsu Province Jasmine scholarship’. Currently, nealry 1000 international studnets from 60 countries are study at NJUST.
